Eric Brown

Research Fellow

Eric Brown is a research fellow at Hudson Institute, where he is affiliated with the Center on Islam and the Center for Future Security Strategies.

Since joining Hudson in 2004, Brown has directed or participated in a range of research and analytical projects focused on Islamic and Asian affairs, the alternative security and sociopolitical futures of the Middle East and Asia, and U.S. foreign policy. 

He has conducted research throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.  

Brown has been a consultant to the U.S. government, to foundations and to business, and has briefed policymakers in the U.S. and abroad. 

Brown graduated with highest honors from Marlboro College and studied the classical thought of India, China and Japan at St. John's College. 

Brown is co-editor, with Hillel Fradkin and Husain Haqqani, of Current Trends in Islamist Ideology. He has also written for The American Interest, The China Heritage Quarterly, and for Jane's, among other publications.

From 2003-2005, he was an associate editor of The New Atlantis.
